Emma Marie Aronson passed away on June 5th, 2015. She was swimming in a pool with friends when her heart suddenly stopped. Emma was a healthy 17 year old girl who was athletic, competetive, fun and full of Life. Her Faith was everything to her! She loved Jesus and boldly shared that with no regrets. She truly lived each day as if it were her last. She could light up a room with her beautiful smile and BIG personality! She loved people and made friends with everyone. She was amazing!

Emma went to Lee's Summit HS where she played Varsity Basketball. She starting playing sports at the age of 4. Over the years she played soccer, lacrosse, softball, track & field and basketball. She loved being part of a team, having a "SQUAD!"

Emma went into Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). There were no warning signs or symptoms to alert anyone or even Emma herself. Her heart was not able to start again and there was nothing anyone could do. SCA was not something we were aware of and we had no idea this could happen to our active, beautiful daughter. Our goal is to help bring awareness of SCA to students, parents, coaches and the community at large.

Our Foundation was started for the sole purpose of not only raising awareness but also providing heart screenings to all athletes and to make it affordable, easy and non-invasive.With a simple EKG and echocardiogram our daughters life may have been saved. We don't want to see this happen to another family.

Emma's physical life may have been taken too soon but she lives on. We know she is in heaven and we will be together again. This is what continues to hold us together. Our Faith and helping others has become the purpose that keeps us going. We will continue to do what she wanted(which was to save lives), by providing heart screenings for athletes to ensure they are "Safe to Play".

We have partnered with Saint Luke's East Hospital and their Athletic Heart Clinic to provide these life saving tests!

Please help us spread the word about SCA and the importance of heart screenings. We don't want to see this happen to any other family, especially if it's something that can be prevented.                                     #emmalives

Date for next screening TBD!

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still!
